The Volkswagen is now seeking to take its spot as a top ten Taxi cab in every major global city. The old Chevrolet Caprice was seen as the only kind of Taxi in New York and California for a very long time. Then, it was the Toyota Camry. Now, it is the Prius by Toyota. Hyundai has become a popular Taxi with its Ionic 5. Volkswagen wants this position as the major Taxi cab company in all European cities with its hybrid and regenerative vehicles such as the ID 3, ID 4 and ID 5. In this photo, you see an ID 3 that is comparable to the Ionic 5 and both regenerative vehicles are priced similarly in a competitive market. The Toyota offers a fuel cell vehicle and several hybrids that may not be regenerative but that have more market share at this time than all of it's competitors in that segment and they also come across as rather attractive fuel saving vehicles. Volkswagen, as rumored, to even up the market share numbers, is now making the hybrid variant of all of its vehicles the standard offering and why not? In your own domestic market 250 Kms from the Volkswagen headquarters in places like Spain or France, it fends off the loss of market share to other manufacturers that make and sell cheap full efficient hybrids in every model segment as the competition. Diesel and Gasoline are optional.
