I was at a Palestinian rally the other day in Brooklyn and Prospect Park was filled with Palestinian flags and lots of people. Cars, lots of cars were parked near by as they honked their horns in solidarity. Then, I noticed the police converge on a black man and woman who were their in support and they were asked for ID. It was rather unusual. The young man had a Democratic Black Lives Matter T Shirt on and an Exxon hat. I'm not Black yet I look Algerian or Ethiopian I suppose. The young man refused to give his ID and then they walked away. He asked them for ID. He was a cop and could see they were not real officers. The shirts were old standard issue; not the current uniform.
