Austen's account of female childhood and education builds on chat of Fanny Burney. Alongside the decorous social surface and underpinning and the emphasis on the traditional expectation of marriage is a sense of the need for protection in the face of the hazards of society. That some challenges to happiness are from within families makes these hazards even more problematic. In drawing on Burney, especially her Camilla, in Northanger Abbey, Austen relates to long-standing views, and therefore debates, on women, childhood, experience, and education.** Alongside patriarchalism and discipline, affection and emotion bonded families together. Parents of all social and religious groups loved their children, and most did not treat them as embodiments of original sin, although many evangelicals still did. Human depravity remained a potent idea, as the writings of Hannah More indicated. However, the inculcation of deference, discipline, and piety by authoritarian parents was not incompatible with affection. In bringing up their children, parents saw the need to teach them basic skills and regarded this, correctly, as for the benefit of children as much as parents.
A Black Hawk is down on the Potomac along with an American Airlines passenger jet; killing a total of 70+ people from various parts of the world. The Black Hawks are eastern seaboard natives. They are honoured with the name of their tribe used for sports teams and military aircraft. An accident happened recently at the Ronald Reagan Airport in an urban area that, regardless of race, just helped the current President get re elected. The cause of the accident is unknown and there are rumours that a, not yet fully trained, Canadian walk over may have been at the controls of the Black Hawk, did not obey the control tower or did not have the tower frequency on and when trying to impress his Canadian friends who were on the Black Hawk with him, he caused the accident with the passenger jet. It is also rumoured that, across America, Canadian walk overs have taken on Police Patrol jobs during the forever wars and have killed Americans with unauthorized police activity only to film their antics as if mocking the duty to serve and protect as they watch these videos afterwards, eating Doritos and popcorn. Is this true? What do we do? No matter what, there is no evidence of any Air Traffic control failure and nor is there any evidence of the racial background of the various tower staff ensuring runway paths are safe and clear for landing. Car design has become such a 3D AutoCAD experience and then you have the choice of customizing your vehicle, using a computer or smart device to get your own unique design or expression on a website or in the show room with the various options. Has this customization feature come to the shoe buying experience? I was reading an article recently on "Nobiety"; an energetic online magazine about sports shoes and everything commonly good in athletic clothing and it took me to a link for the nike.com website, selling Nike Dunks. I saw the recent offerings and some of them appear below here and then the new Nike website gives you the option to "design your own" shoe with 12 different modifiable options. The shoe I designed appears below. I also like the Dunk, Jordan or any Nike shoe with a black sole and off white, grey, brown, blue or black upper with a smooth leather or vinyl material for wear on subways, buses and for traversing escalators in the city. There is a shoe by Nike with the city in mind called the Nike City and apparently, it comes with a vinyl upper or smooth leather upper now or this option will be available with the "design your own" function on the site with a few standard leather Nike City models on the site or the shelf; so you can wipe that Cafe Nero coffee or "Five Guys" ketchup off your shoe as spilled by that other cool traveler who is really sorry he spilled coffee and ketchup on your shoes. He says "Salaam", "Shalom" or "peace brother" and gives you his tickets to the NFL game and also the NBA game to apologize with compensation for the damage. Soon, you should be able to claim damage to your shoes on your home insurance with a special option or rider for those who use public transit and it will cover the cost of damage to clothing also or personal articles in addition to any personal injury for slips, falls or any attacks by weirdos who think your phone is not Apple enough and that he should kill you because he thought you are going to die anyway. Aren't you weird if it's not Apple? But, we will all die anyway...some day although it might take very, very long. Design your Own; this is a truly cool and fun shopping feature for the shoe buyer to enjoy and it takes Nike miles above the competition; especially now that "retro" shoes are not so "retro" with midsole improvements so that the sole and midsole of the retro Nikes will no longer let water pass through the interlocking design to make your feet wet. The US Government Funding Bill Fiasco in December 2024; You would not raise the debt ceiling since you have more revenue generally. What if the US demanded a continent wide compliance with a UN based income support policy (compliance much like Covid 19 compliance) to ensure unnecessary migration among the various North American countries does not take place; and this is to be achieved with an agreement to fund each country's respective citizens at no less than $100,000.00 per year and that costs no more than $11.42 per hour; per citizen or face significant Tariffs. Focusing on the United States alone and its concerns about more military spending, The Funding Bill would then require a 3% Federal Sales tax on all consumer spending in the United States; 1% is dedicated to the national debt; 1% is dedicated to military spending; and 1% is dedicated to ensuring all Americans in the US are paid this $100,000.00 per year income support; All Americans in the same way that all Chinese and all Russians are funded. You would not raise the debt ceiling since you have more revenue generally. The economy, with this income support for all citizens protected by NORAD, must comply with the purposes of national defense as symbolized by the F22; and cover, protect, defend the life and ensure the safety of citizens from all dangers; economic dangers, domestic and foreign. We must do this with all economic means available. If you find your heart and mind says this is impossible or arduous, then maybe you have not agreed to the existence and safety of the domestic population through all means available to us; such as an income support to be paid to all citizens in North America in what is called the NORED; the North American Economic Defense. You may be caught up in reciting a culture of economic insufficiency and pain with no purposeful end and certainly it does not agree with the purpose of the F22 as noted above. Warren A.
