 The power plug in France has evolved to include a mandatory shutter to cover the metal prongs that might kill a child or an adult if they got in contact with it using their tongue or nose.  

There is a recessed outlet also that  hides the electrical hardware or pin and does not expose the pin until it is pressed down.  See the photo.
