A man was absconding from a Court date and some how ended up passing out at a Hounslow tube station. He was apprehended by police who saw the charges of fail to appear in Court in the Siemens Nixdorf laptops in their Hyundai hybrid or BMW SUVs. They took him to a detention near by, awaiting a bail hearing in Welwyn Garden. It should have taken 24 hours but they were told to wait for a special hearing after the London team made contact with Welwyn. It was to be set for a resolution of the matter and not a bail hearing with a consideration of the time served up front if he chose to accept an early plea offer or he could ask for a set date, awaiting disclosure. He did not have disclosure to see all the information involving the charges brought against him so that he might make full answer and defence but he already served five days that actually become 45 days, waiting for the special hearing as this sometimes happens as they wait for a special JP or Judge needed in the circumstances, involving involuntary intoxication. On the 47th day, the Welwyn Soldier Officers picked him up in London for a standard transfer and brought him to Court. He chose to plead and take time served at 47 days up front. I think it was penciled in under the circumstances as 30 days served in the community for an early plea if he had surrendered for failing to appear in Court.
